Laser Safety Technology provides a complete solution for laser containment. Our standard enclosure is designed to sit on a number of table sizes and has a number of key fixtures and fittings built-in for safety and convenience.
We can also provide custom enclosures tailored to your specifications, if you should require something extra special that falls outside our range of standard solutions. Read on below to explore more about the various features available. |

Doors
There's plenty of scope for flexibility when it comes to the doors. Depending on the number of enclosure access points
required, we are able to accommodate doors on all sides if necessary. Customisable features range from handle design and
lockability to provision of inbuilt cable-inlet features. Depending on your application, laser-filter windows are also an option.
Safety interlocks
These form an essential part of our enclosures. Each of the doors possesses a safety interlock switch which detects whether
a door has been opened. These switches are interconnected to all laser equipment, ensuring that injuries are prevented
due to accidental access when lasers are in operation. We recommend magnetic switches in favour of mechanical switches
which ensures enhanced reliability (due to lack of moving parts) and increased aesthetics since these can be hidden from
view. This has the added benefit of minimising the likelihood of tampering. We can also provide door indicators to suit.
Key-operated safety-function override switch
At times, it may be necessary to override the triggering of safety functions. The laser safety officer may for instance have
the duty of configuring and commissioning laser equipment. For such situations, we provide key-operated switches meaning
only authorised personnel has capabilities to perform such operations.
Warning beacons and indicators
Being aware of the current laser operation status and override mechanisms in action are critical to user safety. Depending
on the desired output, we can provide a choice of beacon and indicator solutions. You may for instance select from static,
flashing or rotating mode beacons of different colours, or opt for verbal signage such as "LASER ON" or "LASER OVERRIDE".
Internal plug sockets
You may wish to use certain mains-powered equipment with lasers within the enclosure (e.g. for research purposes). By
implementing internal plug sockets, not only do we provide you with a convenient source of power but this is in fact a
neater and safer solution in comparison to feeding in externally powered equipment where trailing cables could potentially
become a safety hazard.
